Catch More Bass with Pro angler and Bass Guide Pete Gluszek

Come Fish the Northeast's Upper Chesapeake Bay.

The Upper Chesapeake Bay is one of the most exciting fisheries in the Northeast. It happens to be the largest freshwater estuary in the world. This is a tidal river fishery and has a 2-4 foot tidal fluctuation. A trip on the bay is a great experience for any angler wishing to learn how to pattern and catch bass in tidal water.

I have been fishing and competing in tournaments on the Chesapeake for over twenty years. Over the years the fishing conditions have gone through a transaction. Twenty years ago the fishing could be described as difficult. Today, the fishing can be described as outstanding with three to six pound bass readily available throughout the bay.

For booking info or date availability contact us any time; by phone, call Pete (609)805-2280. I would love to speak with you about your important fishing trip. I am most often on the lake. If there is no answer, please leave a detailed message and I will return your call as soon as possible.

Seasonal Patterns:

April-June:

I begin taking trips in April on the Chesapeake. This is the pre-spawn/spawn time of year and is incredible. The bay has an abundance of four pound bass and six pound bass are always a possibility. The milfoil grass is just beginning to grow and the bass are starting to take the spawning flats. Rattle Traps are the best baits early in the season than power fishing is the rule to catch the big ones as the season moves through the spawn. Spring time is a great time to be outdoors and fishing on the bay.

July-August:
It can get hot on the Chesapeake in the summer. The fishing is hot too. The bass are spread out all over the bay. They have moved out of their spawning areas are can be found in some of the massive grass flats that are found in the upper bay. If you want to learn how to flip and pitch, this is the time of year for you. Flipping and pitching on the bay can produce some big bass!

September-November:
The fall is migration time on the Upper Bay. As the grass beds begin to breakup in the fall the bait fish are forced into large schools and the bass follow them as they head to the wintering areas. Jigs and crankbait fishing will produce the best catches this time of year. Bring your cold weather gear and prepare for some big catches.
